Jeff Donnell

Equipment Operator

Jeff has been operating equipment since he was born (at least as best we can tell). He’s a whiz in a loader, an excavator or anything else with an engine. Born and raised in New Hampshire, he runs Donnell Enterprises when he’s not assisting Hermit Woods. When not behind a set of controls, he’s the president of his local snowmobile club, spending time with his family or getting involved in myriad other projects.

Heather Furman

Trail Associate

After earning a masters in urban planning in 2010, Heather took her background in park design/planning and began learning how to build trails in Arizona with a conservation corps. She has since designed, built, and maintained trails ranging from gentle universally-accessible trails in wetlands to rugged footpaths in the alpine zone. Heather holds certifications in Aerial Trail Rigging, Wilderness First Aid, Game of Logging and is a DSWA Level 1 Waller. When not stacking rocks and raking gravel, she enjoys kayaking very slowly on a sunny day or skiing fast through Vermont’s beautiful birch glades.

Madylin Partridge

Trail Associate

Madylin started working on trails during her undergraduate at Dartmouth College, where she spent two summers on trail crews working on the AT. A lifelong lover of rocks, she has a degree in Earth Sciences and is easily distracted by cool minerals she finds while hiking. Madylin holds a certification in Wilderness First Aid. When not working on trails, she can be found drawing detailed forest landscapes or doing puzzles.

Isaac Alexandre-Leach

Trail ASsociate

Since 2013, Isaac has been working on trails for Northern Forest Canoe Trail, Southwest Conservation Corps, Baxter State Park, and the Green Mountain Club. He holds certifications in wilderness first aid and as a USFS crosscut sawyer. Outside of work he enjoys climbing, pond hockey, and an ever-growing list of tinkering and repair projects.

Buffam Falls Design/Build LLC

Partner

Sometimes, a trail project requires a timber frame. Yes - we said ‘requires’. Timber framing is a storied and historical craft that has been in practice for thousands of years.  Simultaneously relying on the natural strength of trees and the precision of hand crafted joinery, timber framing is a collaboration of some of the best of human and nature.

Enter Buffam Falls Design/Build. Whether it’s something as simple as a kiosk or much more complex, Hermit Woods calls on the best. We’ve collaborated on a number of projects over the years with Buffam Falls, always with jaw-dropping results. So just because Hermit Woods’ website doesn’t offer timber-framing, doesn’t mean we can’t make it happen! Check out Buffam Falls’ work on their website or on their Instagram, and then give either one of us a call!
