For years the Bolton Potholes have been a popular swimming destination for locals and tourists alike. In 2018 the Vermont River Conservancy became the new land manager of the property and established a management plan which included improving the trail system around the potholes. In Spring of 2019, Hermit Woods Trailbuilders installed several new stone staircases totalling approximately 60 steps, and hardened 150’ of trail creating more sustainable access to this beloved natural swimming hole.
